ABSTRACT
This chapter presents the different fundamental aspects of induction motor protection. The chapter describes the approach that can be used in the smart grid environment through the smart metering system or accurate smart sensor devices. The chapter also discusses the importance of the induction motor strategy during principal protection for either standard grid or smart grid environments.
