ABSTRACT

Antifungal agents require specialized dosing considerations in children, because the pharmacokinetics often differ between pediatric and adult patients. Similarly, there are additional concerns related to type of formulation, absorption, and other issues, all of which contribute to the overall efficacy of each antifungal agent.  This chapter breaks down the nuances of the major antifungal drugs and how they are metabolized and used in children, suggesting optimal dosing procedures for pediatric patients.
