ABSTRACT

Selenium (Se) plays a crucial role in our diet, and it can help prevent the Kaschin-Beck disease and affect immune responses. The average total Se content of the Tibetan Plateau is much lower than the inland of China. The key point of the total chain is based upon Se-enriched technology. H. Q. Yin et al. reported that mixing biological carbon Se fertilizers with another slow release fertilizer can efficiently enrich and improve production of potato with Se. Moreover, the adoption of internet to promote the sales of Se-enriched organic Puer-tea products not only increases the income of farmers, company, and government, but also enables consumers to appreciate the Se-enriched organic Puertea growing process and tea products. By developing a Se rich smart agricultural technology, the transformation of traditional extensive plateau agriculture into organic and functional agriculture will be realized in the nearby future.
