The chapter draws together various threads and themes of the discussion carried out in the preceding chapters and reflects the contribution of the book to some of the major ongoing debates at the global level. It also indicates how the economic gains and social costs of agrarian transformation are far more complex and nuanced in India than is commonly assumed.
