ABSTRACT

At Dudullu Station of Dudullu-Bostanci Metro Line, it was decided to construct a shaft as the fastest way to start the excavation of the station tunnels. The shaft structure was constructed with pile and conventional system that is approximately 19 meters in diameter and 42 meters in depth. Two P Type platform tunnel, one B3 Type escalator tunnel and one B5 Type connection tunnel were excavated from the end of the shaft. The shaft and the station tunnels were excavated in Filling, Silty Clay and Limestone. Because of the existing school and cut and cover structure of the line, careful measurements were taken during shaft excavation. In this paper, the main steps of the shaft design and construction will be explained and the measurements made at the site during the construction will be shown. These monitoring data will be compared with the numerical analysis results obtained during the design phase.
