ABSTRACT

Some peculiarities of behavior of columns packed by polymer-mineral packing materials in reversed-phase high-performance liquid chromatography (RP-HPLC) regime have been considered as compared with columns containing conventional C18-phase by example of Waters Symmetry C18 column.

Poly-octadecyl methacrylate-butyl acrylate (poly-ODMA-BA) and poly-octadecyl methacrylate-bu-tylacrylate-maleic anhydride (poly-ODMA-BA-MA) have been used as polymer phases.

And micro-spherical silica gels (MS) having following characteristics: specific surface area (Ssp.) 80–100 m2/g; total pore sorption volume (VΣ) 0.56–1.00 cm3/g; average pore diameter (dav.) 30 nm have been applied as initial materials of inorganic origin.

It has been shown by means of NMR method that above mentioned functional groups are actually fixed on the surface of silica carrier.
