ABSTRACT

Quantum dots (QDs) are a semiconductor of a very small size (2–10 nm). The band of energies is changed to the discrete energy level in QDs. The energy will depend on its size. These are considered dimensionless. Use of QDs is versatile that is in solar cells, laser, memory, LEDs, photovoltaics, photodetectors, photocatalyst, quantum computers, etc. QDs will occupy a prominent position in these fields in years to come.
