ABSTRACT

In the Control phase, the objective is to build a sustainability plan where everyone can successfully work together to maintain the improvement. The primary objective of this phase in the Define-Measure-Analyze-Improve-Control model is to provide a simple plan that easily documents how to keep the improvement in place. Control Charts are a statistical process control tool used to determine if the process is in a state of control. Quality Control is the heart of Lean Six Sigma methodology. In the Control phase, since definitive results have been achieved, the standard Return-on-Investment formula captures the information. At the end of the control process the Leaner Practitioner should determine a way to reward the team and stakeholders if possible. The focus of the Control phase is to make sure that the action items created in the Improve phase are well-implemented and maintained.
