ABSTRACT

Political education is one of the democratic instruments that should receive attention to support national and regional elections. This research aims to: (1) find the legal reasoning of the instrument of political education that is often overlooked when it is linked to raising democratic awareness; (2) present models of political education to the Baduy Tangtu tribe (indigenous people) regarding the regional head election held in Lebak Banten. The theories involved are election and civic education, while the research method used is empirical-juridical with a socio-juridical approach. The research result obtained involves: (1) formulating legal argumentation over the essence of political education required in the election of a regional head; (2) developing specific models of political education for the indigenous people of Baduy Tangtu in Lebak, Banten.
