ABSTRACT

This paper examines the additional penalties for sexual crimes. The purpose of this research is to find the justification of punishment in the criminal justice system that is more acceptable in accordance with the moral development of society. This normative juridical study uses conceptual and case approaches. The analysis is carried out by descriptive analysis method to establish the basic theory and practice of punishment by courts of sexual crime perpetrators. It can be concluded from this study that there are several reasons for additional punishments by the court; namely, the nature of the relationship of the perpetrator to the victim, repetition, and committing several crimes at once.
