ABSTRACT
In Chapter 4, I estimated the comparative efficiency of 50 Korean cities using the DEA model. As was seen in Table 4.2, there are quite significant variations of the urban productivity levels among the cities studied. Estimated efficiency scores vary over the range 0.2204 to 1. Five cities have a maximum efficiency score of one with respect to total manufacturing activity. More than half of the cities (36 out of 50) have efficiency scores between 0.4 and 0.8.
