Ground-borne vibrations induced by pile driving: Prediction based on numerical approach

In this paper an efficient numerical model for the prediction of vibrations induced by impact pile driving is presented. This numerical model is based on a formulation of finite elements method implemented in the frequency domain. Perfectly matched layers are used to simulate the infinite nature of the ground. After a brief presentation of the model, an application example is presented and the main features of the problem are discussed.
