ABSTRACT
This compilation of chapters has enabled us to visualize the viewpoints of well-known authors on a wide range of issues that integrate the discussion on seas, coasts and fisheries. Given the diverse and wide range of perspectives covered by the chapters it is difficult to establish similarities and equivalencies among the situations and contexts described. But there are concerns and issues raised which crosscut the different contributions.
