ABSTRACT

Clinaid is presented as a Multi-environmental Multi-context Architecture in which the specific features are classified by considering how the designer has interpreted challenges. This chapter presents the activity structures that lead to the construction of the diagnostic unit of Clinaid. It discusses the types of static structures — the structures that contain the diagnostic semantic descriptors of the elements of the body systems (such as signs, symptoms, syndromes, diseases). It is concerned with the dynamics of inference in Aim Environmental Activity Structure (AEAS). The AEAS is embedded into the Knowledge Based System and forms an essential part of its overall activity structure. The chapter explains a more refined picture of clinician’s decision making activity, including also its other aspects, such as patient management. It provides the dynamics of inference, locality and multiplicity of context and the strategies of inference from the point of view of environmental and functional activity structures.
