ABSTRACT
Lee’s annotations to his sketches often appear on the verso side of the folio. Where this is the case, the sketch titles and/or descriptions are not separated by a paragraph space. Lee normally uses the spelling ‘scetch’ for his sketches. Page references to this edition are in brackets following the MSS references.
