ABSTRACT

Land redevelopment is intended for those areas where other functions besides agriculture play an important part. The functions may be existing or planned. The areas may be located near major cities, where land has an agriculture or nature function and is needed, for example, for recreation or road construction. Areas outside the urban sphere of influence may be important to nature and landscape conservation, as well as to agriculture. In areas where different functions exist side by side, land redevelopment is the most appropriate type of land development. The Act provides that land redevelopment may involve reallocation of land in the whole project area or in a part of it. As in land consolidation, the reallocation area can be divided into a number of reallocation blocks.
