ABSTRACT
The third chapter provides an overview of the dynamic nature of the aviation industry in the years 1903 to 1945. Understanding the level of dynamism in the industry is important to understanding the context in which this group of entrepreneurs worked. Past studies of entrepreneurial theory underestimate the role played by the level of dynamic technological change in shaping the entrepreneurial careers of many (perhaps with the exception of studies of the modern IT industry).
