ABSTRACT
Nations usually interact most with their neighbours, and so it is no surprise that Japan has expanded – through trade and investment – mostly in the Pacific area. This chapter looks at Japan’s interactions with the countries of the Pacific and provides a brief chronology of its trade, investment, and financial links with Australia between 1957 and 1985.
