ABSTRACT

Value Enabling processes are essential to the control and development of the organisation as a whole, they act to create its future. They are designed backwards from their internal customer aiming to ensure alignment to the changing environment and improve performance. The value enabling processes synthesise information about the present with desires and intent for the future AND reassess the appropriateness of the established goals in the evolving environment steering the organisation towards its desired future. The chapter offers a whole new model for the interaction of the strategic and operational aspects of the organisation and how the essential dialogue between them can be structured and, through the use of Dudley’s ‘Trialogue’ the tensions resolved. The chapter incorporates shows how the conventional tools of strategy fit into this space. By the end of the chapter the reader will be able to recognise the pathology of their own situation and how to address it.
