ABSTRACT

Protecting streaming media is vital for any operator in any industry, be it content owners like the Hollywood studios or large enterprise. Digital rights management (DRM) works in a similar fashion by creating business policies regarding the access of purchased streaming media and then enforcing it via the technology solution chosen. It is typical to see DRM sold by online video platforms or content delivery networks to streaming media operators since it simplifies the number or vendors that need to be managed. Encryption is based on the theory that messages can, and will, be stolen so it was best to ensure that they should not be legible when read by their interceptors. Digital watermarking on media works primarily as a unique stamp for tracking and is used to track the source of piracy. Some of the most important areas of content handling by an operator are found in the content operations or content publishing departments.
