ABSTRACT

Without question, some of the most difficult hours I have spent in my office have been in the company of a couple whose 22-year-old daughter killed herself just two months after having graduated from college. I had treated Kim during two difficult phases while she was in high school, one of which (during her sophomore year) was characterized by an overuse of weed, which gradually bled her of motivation, one of which (during her junior year) was characterized by promiscuity, which gradually bled her of dignity.
