ABSTRACT

This chapter discusses the structure of the tourism industry in Kenya. It examines investment in the tourism industry followed by marketing and promotion of tourism. The chapter provides an analysis of the structure and ownership of the tourism enterprises in the country. It also provides an analysis of the structure and ownership of the tourism enterprises in the country. The chapter deals with indigenous Kenyan investment in tourism enterprises and in marketing and tourism promotion. It analyses the structure and ownership of tourism enterprises in order to expose the problems which hinder tourism's contribution to local development.
