ABSTRACT

This conclusion presents some closing thoughts on the concepts covered in the preceding chapters of this book. The book addresses important issues in education, including access; differentiated learning; critical learning and pedagogy; new, collaborative pedagogies; the internationalisation of teaching and the curriculum; and policies around international education and leadership in schools. It presents some contemporary issues around education and proposed recommendations to tweak educational practices in ways that might trigger change. The book offers visions for policymakers and encouraged policymakers, teachers and parents to take informed actions based on generative themes. It highlights education, pedagogy and access and made recommendations for policymakers and/or future studies to reconsider and strengthen students’ access. The book also addresses the theme of power politics at the tertiary and primary levels of education. It describes the value of developing decolonising mindsets and practices, and professional learning communities among stakeholders in education and reviewing the tensions that may encourage a free, transformative and liberal decolonised education.
