ABSTRACT

The political and legal developments seemed to arouse passions which neither lawyers nor the general public knew very well how to deal with. Several politicians and journalists expressed views about the irrational and even ignorant and irresponsible electorate. It is perhaps significant that the lawyers who have found it worthwhile to spend time on disentangling and recultivating the field are lawyers dealing with philosophy of law and legal theory, legal history and immigration law. National relations, class relations, political organization, gender relations, generational relations, ethnic relations, for a period of time were seemingly stable relations which allowed (not only) legal professionals to take certain emotions so for granted that they were ignored and left to the so-called subjective sciences.
