ABSTRACT

The corporate anthropologists have infected leaders, consultants and advisors, with their wanderlust and that they are inspired to undertake more journeys of discovery both within and outside the corporate tribe, close to home and far away. They hope that they are able to ignore the voices of people who say that they cannot change culture and that they dare to start their journey. Changing organizational culture is not an all-inclusive holiday that comes with a hotel reservation, gorgeous swimming pool, set meal times, a full schedule of activities and a personal tour guide. Change is an expedition. The totem model for the cultural transition is intended as a source of inspiration, but also as a reference to help leaders, consultants and advisors, assess situations, identify the type of cultural change needed and choose the right approach for the job.
