Relaxation is a very important way for us to learn to manage and cope with big feelings. Feeling relaxed can help us to cope much better with stress. It can help us to feel less tired and tense, and can help us to focus and concentrate better. The art children create can be used as a visual reminder that they can access their space whenever they need to, and can also help to reinforce and even enhance their space, cementing it further in their imagination. This can make it easier for them to see it in detail and also to return to it in their mind. Teaching children, the skill of being able to relax their body is a lifelong skill that they can use wherever and whenever they feel tense. Muscles can be grouped together to make the exercise shorter, or reader can ask the child to focus on one muscle at a time to make it longer.
