ABSTRACT

This chapter contains four sections. The first section presents the descriptive analyses of the variables. These results provide information to assess distributive properties of the variables. If a variable is highly skewed it may be linearized through logarithmic transformation. This is necessary to ensure the assumptions of normality underlying multivariate analysis for model testing. The second section presents the results of the analysis by geographical regions. The focus of this section is on regional variations on women’s reproductive rights. The third section describes the reliability and validity used to measure the latent factors. Measures of association among variables are also presented because they are helpful in making crude assessments of validity of the scales. The final section presents the results of the estimation of the proposed model using structural equation modeling.
