ABSTRACT

This chapter aims to develop one platform for a quantitative method to resolve metabolic active cell count (MACC) in biological cultures. It utilizes methylene blue dye reduction test to detect pure culture MACC from their mixtures and quantifies the external effect of antibiotic and exhibition process on several microorganisms. Extended the methodology to determine pure culture from more than one culture and it fits very well if the start cell concentrations are known. Several methods are used for live cell test. But all processes used to determine colony forming units are tedious, expensive, and higher error method. The study of the phenomenon requires quantification of MACC in pure and mixed cultures. Mixed cultures are usually used in several different processes involving bioremediation and food processing. Biotechnology and biochemical work with industrial microorganisms usually has a close connection with their industrial applications, because basic biological phenomena are generally best studied in organisms that very well characterized in certain respects.
