ABSTRACT

This research describes the teacher strategy informing discipline on pre-school children in Kendari Kuncup Pertiwi kindergarten. The research used qualitative study with ethnographic approach. The informants of the research are teachers and students in Kendari Kuncup Pertiwi kindergarten. The data was collected by using observation, interview, recording, document and photos, then analysed by applying domain, taxonomy and thematic data analysis. The result of the research shows: (1) disciplines applied by the teacher in Kendari Kuncup Pertiwi kindergarten has resulted in children arrive on time at school; wear uniform, pray before and after activities; wash their hands before and after eating; pack up their toys; wait for their turns in taking meals; accept and completed their tasks; and throw rubbish in the proper place, (2) teachers in Kendari Kuncup Pertiwi kindergarten uphold discipline comprehensively throughout the process of learning. The strategy was integrated in every sequence of teaching. The teachers also used teaching media to help children understand the message that they tried to convey.
