ABSTRACT
The number of working mothers has increased in recent years. This means that parents leave their children in daycare, so the task of parenting is switched to caregivers. The role of caregivers becomes very important because it can affect children’s development. However, maltreatment of children carried out by caregivers in daycare is still common. For this reason, a selection system for caregivers in daycare is needed, so that these maltreatment cases can be minimized. This chapter will discuss about competency-based selection system for caregivers in daycare using in-depth interview methods such as Behavioral Event Interviews.
