ABSTRACT

Parenting is an important factor in fostering children’s character. All parents are desperate for their children to have good qualities that are in accordance with social values and norms in society. However, at this time the existing of any kind of parenting style has experienced in line with the times. The digital age is an age where all forms of parenting that have been ideal are forced to experience extreme changes, thus giving rise to a gap between previous parenting and the development of the times. By using a qualitative approach and descriptive method of analysis and a cross-sectional survey strategy on young parents from 25 to 33 years old that have children 5 to 10 years old. The results show that parents with diverse technological skills have formed parenting according to the times. It is expected that the findings of this study can have implications for the development of child care in the digital age for further study to be carried out so as to produce appropriate parenting in dealing with children in the digital age.
