ABSTRACT
A 16-year-old girl presents to the emergency department with throat pain for the past 4 days. She reports worsening pain and difficulty swallowing. She also notes that her voice has sounded more muffled over the past day. She is afebrile with normal vital signs. Her throat exam is significant for swelling and uvular deviation to the right.
