ABSTRACT
A 9-year-old boy presents to the emergency department in the summer with worsening bilateral ear discharge. He is active on his neighborhood swim team. He describes intense pruritis and there is tenderness on exam when the pinnae are manipulated. You suspect a diagnosis of acute otitis externa.
