ABSTRACT
In this paper I shall stress the importance of personal social services as it literally reads - that they are (1) social and (2) services. I shall start by defining these concepts and shall then draw a few conclusions from the definitions. There is a fundamental difference between social services and ordinary material production - and ordinary service production, too, which because of market conditions will remain of restricted importance in this area, both quantitatively and in relation to the social problems created in a liberal society.
