ABSTRACT

This chapter presents image encryption approaches based on compressive sensing (CS), Discrete Fourier Transform and Discrete Wavelet Transform (DWT) for color images. It provides the procedure for CS based encryption and decryption of color image. The encryption of a color image is performed using a measurement matrix as a secret key. The decryption of a color image is performed using the measurement matrix and CS recovery algorithm. Some researchers showed the application of CS theory on Landsat satellite images and color videos. The results obtained using these techniques are not good for data acquired by moving sensor or moving data acquired by steady sensor. While CS theory using Discrete Cosine Transform and DWT works effectively on real data, it is observed that there is less effect on imaginary data. The CS based encryption process performs compression of the image simultaneously.
