ABSTRACT

“Audition,” according to The American Heritage Dictionary, means “a trial hearing.” That is exactly what we ask a creative team to do—give us a trial hearing. An audition is the opportunity to be seen and heard, to present oneself and one’s skills for consideration in casting or re-casting a particular role or show. The auditioners in an audition are your audience of the moment. They want to be moved, just like an audience. They are there to examine your tools, technique, and ability to move them.
