ABSTRACT

Rapid economic growth needs efficient, productive and effective entrepreneurs, managers administrators and business leaders. The increase in the high level of competitiveness at domestic and global markets gives a greater need for highly qualified and well equipped entrepreneurs managers and business leaders. National Productivity Corporation was established in 1962 as a statutory body under the Ministry of International Trade and Industry known as National Productivity Centre. However, the name was changed to the National Productivity Corporation effective from 1991 when it was corporatised by the government to enhance its management. The establishment of Malaysian Entrepreneurial Development Centre (MEDEC) is to provide training for Bumiputera to assist them start up new business. The main focus of the centre is on providing management courses to potential, new and young entrepreneurs to run their business operation on Small and Medium Enterprises. Entrepreneurial training for the public is the main training programme conducted by MEDEC.
