ABSTRACT
This chapter analyses the significance of the BCIM with special reference to the Northeastern states of India. Keeping the resource availability and production structure of Northeast, the authors have identified major products where India should focus and encourage trade with China and develop a value chain across the region. As cost of production in China is increasing, BCIM region can develop itself as an outsourcing region supplying components and finished goods to Chinese OEMs.
