ABSTRACT

First Person Shooters have always been about the competitive aspect of playing against each other, with the likes of Doom, Unreal, and many more. The one infected who was unique was the witch. One witch could spawn on any map and would become aggressive if fired on, or if the survivors got too close. When triggered, the witch could incapacitate a survivor in one hit before trying to finish her or him off. Operating as a well-oiled machine was the only way to survive in Left 4 Dead, and this was expanded on with the game's versus mode. The versus mode put two teams of four against each other, with one playing the survivors and the other as the special infected. Playing as the special infected once again brought in the focus of teamwork. Alone, the special infected were easily countered, but a well-coordinated strike was another matter entirely.
