ABSTRACT

Chapter 3 provides the case for the claim that Chambers was both an archivist and professional historian. Examples of how these skills were used in his many works are highlighted through several examples in those chapters. They converge in his Accounting Thesaurus. Published in 1996, it remains the only accounting thesaurus. The Chambers Archive is one of the most comprehensive accounting archives in the world, with great opportunities for accounting historians and theoreticians.
