ABSTRACT

Fear is one of the most fundamental psychological traits of humans, and has been explored by scholars in many different disciplines. Our discussion of fear starts with its (neuro) physiological foundations and the behavioral consequences at an individual and organizational level. We discuss mindfulness and attentiveness as means to work with the fears of the uncontrollable and unexpected. We explore how the training away, splitting, or sharing certain aspects of fear can help to manage and reduce it. Other aspects we explore in this chapter include the relationships between fear and self-analysis, decision making, and risk assessment.
