ABSTRACT
Today, technology is heavily used only in the short- to medium-term purchasing process in a variety of sources, such as an MPS, procurement plan, MRP, etc., but also for the broader, longer-term needs of an entire procurement/sourcing process. Dominick identified ten types of standalone procurement software systems: Now let's look at some examples where technology has enabled a Leaner procurement process. Clariant eventually deployed the Ariba Procurement Content solution to manage more than 300 catalogs, deployed the Ariba PO Automation solution in 21 countries, and rolled out the Ariba Invoice Automation solution in Germany and Switzerland. Clariant reached their goal of purchasing all their indirect goods and services through the integration of Ariba PO and Invoice Automation with their SAP ERP application, thereby increasing order accuracy, reducing non-catalog orders, and streamlining invoice processing in Germany and Switzerland. Preparing and managing purchasing documents involved in this process has always been a time-consuming process.
