ABSTRACT
This chapter reviews and discusses K-12 social network analysis literature to identify implications and new directions for higher education. In particular, four main themes are discussed by drawing on relevant studies undertaken in K-12 settings: formal and informal networks; quality of ties, nested and multiplex relationships; importance of collaboration; and taking a systems perspective. In total, 35 studies have been reviewed. The review has identified four key lessons for higher education.
