ABSTRACT
This chapter highlights practical and technical considerations for researchers conducting network studies in higher education settings. We share insights from the literature and from interviews with a panel of researchers working in this domain. While it is tempting to provide some hard and fast recommendations about methodological choices, to do so would seriously misrepresent the literature. The value in this chapter lies in acquainting the reader with the basic issues that arise in the collection of network data.
