ABSTRACT

The tools and underlying perspectives of SNA are particularly useful for determining the current state of academic departments and revealing veiled social structures that may either support or impede change initiatives. Despite this power and potential, SNA has been underutilized by both researchers and change agents in postsecondary higher education. This book is intended to stimulate greater awareness and knowledge of SNA for those who wish to study and/or enact change in postsecondary education, thereby building capacity in the field for others to engage in this work.
