ABSTRACT
Although many present-day experts in the art of ‘communication’ and teaching have tended to condemn the lecturer-audience situation as outmoded by comparison with group discussion techniques, the lecture appears to be holding its own quite adequately. Indeed, it seems likely that, with the modern trend towards more and more conferences and the like, even more lectures are being given nowadays.
