In an interview given to Dominique Eddé, published in the bookLa lettre et la mort (Green, 2004), when asked about the fact of being internationally renowned for his ideas on affect, Green says, “And if it is ever necessary to define me as the man of something, I’d say I’m the man of the drive. The drive that necessarily includes the affect” (p. 49, translated for this edition).
