ABSTRACT

The bandages which monitor the conditions of the wound and react to improve the healing of wound are called SMART bandages. A SMART compression bandage based on the use of a smart materials (shape-memory alloy) i.e. heating wire, will be useful for heating medical applications. In this work we investigate the possibilities of use of the conductive copper yarns to produce heat in the compression bandages are explored. Heat transfer characteristics can be measured by measuring the change in temperature in compression bandages.Digital Holographic Interferometric technique based on digital imaging and computerized numerical reconstruction method is used to Study the Temperature Profiling of Heating Conductive Yarn in SMART Compression Bandages. With the help of digital imaging and computerized numerical reconstruction this process is simple, accurate, fast and reproducible.
