ABSTRACT
As analysts we know that there is no present without a past, neither a future without a present. In a certain way, Melanie Klein climbed on Freud’s shoulders, as Bion did on Klein’s and Freud’s. Jim and James climbed on Bion’s shoulders. So, we too are part of this legacy as we are building together this history. We are grateful for having Jim and James with us so much alive. Through the Soul Motion Dance one could experience a little bit of the search for that freedom. As a friend of mine said while watching the dance experience: “Perhaps that was why Bion chose California to live.” In the volume The Dawn of Oblivion, Bion said: Physicists and chemists can draw those beautiful diagrams of the AND molecule, but so far have not been able to define the difference between what is animate and inanimate.
