ABSTRACT

This chapter uses a story from published material, free to all schools. It represents both the rest of the high-quality lesson plans in the material, and the increasing use of stories to get children thinking. I will detail a range of such sources, so that the value of this lesson, if it works for you, can be extended very far. The published material is You, Me, Us! and is available in response to requests on school paper, from The Citizenship Foundation (CF) at PO Box 999, Sudbury, Suffolk CO10 6FS. I quote the story and some teacher’s guidance on its treatment, with permission of the Foundation, which is performing a huge service to high-quality, reflective moral education.
